Take Your Style to a New Level
Styles, fashion, trends and what you should wear changes year to year. The easiest way to look dated is sticking to style rules that are passe. Instead modernize how you wear things, breaking outdated style rules with fresh colors, prints, and accessories. See how we've changed client's styles by breaking these style rules here. We'll show you how to modernize what you wear and shop your closet.
White Jeans are for Spring/Summer
Winter white is uber chic and easy to wear in fall/winter but white jeans look modern and fresh paired with sweaters, boots, blazers and more. Go bold pairing white jeans with bold color jackets, sweaters, and blazers or opt for a softer feel with pastel gray, lilac or blush sweaters and boots. We love this VINCE gray sweater with Stuart Weitzman gray bootie ON SALE or AAND suede and patent booties.
Sequins Are For Nighttime
Sparkly sequin dresses can look over-the-top at the office or a daytime outing. But sequin skirts, bomber jackets, blazers, and sweaters look modern and fresh. A sequin blazer atop a cool blouse or a sequin headband to add flair to any outfit or a sequin embellished blouse that instantly stands out.
Shoes Should Match the Outfit
Shoes should be your statement piece or accessory and do not need to be in the same color as your outfit top, pants, or skirt. Matching is not accentuating.
We love these fuchsia Jon Josef embellished flats, these Sophia Webster leopard and red leather sandals, and XXXXX
Don't Pair Black with Navy
Black and navy look remarkably chic together, so step out of the box pairing these neutral hues together. Contrast weights and textures of fabrics to add the dimension to your look, such as pairing a delicate, satin navy top with black leather pants or a navy lace blouse with black tweed pants.
This L'Agence silk blouse is modern to wear with a pencil skirt or cropped trousers. This navy/black lace skirt by Kolor styled with a crisp button down or knit sweater is the perfect piece for work to nights on the town.
Don't Intermix Prints
When it comes to pairing prints, the only limit on your creativity is your confidence. Prints can and should be worn together by selecting prints that compliment each other to look on point versus mistakenly worn. Pair a large print (florals, stripes, graphic, polka dots, houndstooth) with a smaller print in the same colors to easily compliment each other.
We love Rebecca Taylor's polka dot print blouse intermixing the size dots. Choose a mixed print dress such as this Solani floral and polka dot dress or these Palmer//Harding mixed print pants.
